our day was not what we planned for but isn't that sometimes all the better? i won't bore you with details but it was a reminder that God knows what we need, when we need it and better yet where we are needed.
i do want to share a bit from our church service yesterday morning and of course leave you with some entertaining pictures of the girls in their easter best. back in january, a new pastor started at our church so this was the first easter sermon i had the opportunity to hear from him and i so enjoyed it! i love our church but i especially love our wonderful easter services....the music, the message, etc! it is probably my favorite service of the entire year. yesterday morning i had to get out my pen and start marking up my bible...
our text was matthew 28:1-10 and 16-20. the point that stuck with me the most is what draws me to easter and its story of love, grace and redemption of a lost people. after Jesus had risen the angel at the tomb told both marys to "go quickly and tell his disciples" (v 7) and then Jesus told the women to "go and tell my brothers" (v 10). neither the angel or Jesus said "go and tell those who forsake me" or any of the negative thoughts that could have been applied to those 11 remaining men but instead the words disciples and brothers were used! it is such a reminder to me that it is a new day in Jesus' resurrection...the sin is gone...we are forgiven and loved. Christ died so that we may have eternal life and have it to the fullest!
oh, what a gift! i hope you all have received the gift of Jesus and embrace it daily!
Christ the Lord is risen today! Hallelujah!
oh and it is driving me crazy that the pictures are not lining up but it simply will not cooperate.
